Father,
Thank You for the gift of a new year. We rejoice that we have another year ahead of us in which we can praise You, serve You, and love You with all of our hearts, souls, and minds. We are grateful that we can begin a new year with new plans and purpose. Help us to resolve to reserve first place in our lives for You Alone. You are worthy of our whole hearts. Let our dedication be to You; our hope in You; and our lives lived for You in 2009.
As we step into this New Year, help us to spend more time and energy focused on You and on the needs of others rather than focusing on ourselves. Forgive us when doubt and worry and allow fear to dominate our thoughts and lives. Forgive us for failing to share Your love to others who are seeking a relationship with You. We are amazed at Your mercy and the forgiveness that You extend to us over and over when we fail You.
Thank You, Father for hearing our prayers and for meeting the many needs that exist in our lives. We ask for Your continued protection, healing, forgiveness, and help throughout the upcoming year. Nothing is impossible for those who believe, so we are believing and trusting in You, Precious Lord.
We praise You for your ever-listening ear and the compassionate heart that You have for each of Your children. We stand in awe of You, Lord.
