Born Again

I treasure Third Day's song "Born Again" - the lyrics remind us of the beauty of each born again experience. John 3:3 instructs us:"Jesus answered and said to him, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God'.” The Holy Bible does not mince words when it explains to us how we are assured that we will enter the Kingdom of God when we pass from this earth. We must be born again.

For some, this might seem to be a radical phrase or concept. However, its simplicity is only complicated by religiosity and man's interpretations. God did not intend for this to be difficult - He longs for no one to perish and miss the opportunity to be blessed with eternal life. John 3:7 reiterates: "Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’"

When we are "born again" - it is not a physical rebirth, but a spiritual rebirth and cleansing. We are saved from our sins and ourselves. Acts 16:30 poses the question, "...'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?'” And the response was, “'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household'" (Acts 16:31).

Growing up in the church or having Christian parents or grandparents will not guarantee our reservation in Heaven. Living a "good" life or doing "good" works daily will not open the door to Heaven for us. Don't be fooled into believing that there are other methods or other men who will guarantee your promise of eternal life. Acts 4:12 teaches, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Through One Man's Name, through His death and resurrection, through Jesus Christ alone are we saved - forgiven and redeemed.
